20:20 Launches First Kixx Album

Record label BPM Entertainment has launched a social media campaign to stir up buzz around new band The Kixx, ahead of their first album release later this year.

BPM has picked 20:20 to run the campaign, which will focus on using social networks to generate excitement around the band.

Information on tracks and gig dates, photos and video footage of rehearsals and live performances will be released on Twitter and Facebook.

Later, 20:20 plans to supply information on tours and offers to meet the band, giving fans a level of exclusivity.

BPM founder Tim Bowen said social media is now “crucial” for any band looking to promote itself.

Last month Tunited, the online community for bands backed by Ultravox frontman Midge Ure, kicked off a social media and blogging campaign to drive brand awareness, and appointed 20:20 to run the campaign and handle its digital media account.
